Following the tragic events that took place at the BOSTON marathon, there was a moment of silence prior to the start of the elite men’s race and mass start at the LONDON marathon on 21st of April 2013.

34.631 runners (including Olympic and Paralympic gold medalists) started their way from Greenwich at 10:00 am.

The weather conditions were: sunny and dry, temperatures up to 12 degrees, some gusts of wind, humidity ranged from 50 to 70 per cent. That all added up to great conditions for the 33rd edition of the race.

34.170 runners had crossed the finish line in The Mall in front of BUCKINGHAM PALACE by 07:00 pm. One of them I was with finish time: 03:49:57.

After I finished I stopped on my way back to the hotel on the edge of the running track and decided to “decelerate” a while and had some of the most intense moments of the day:
Seeing the faces of all the people, who had just 2 km to run to the finish line, expressing their unshakeable will und pride running for the good cause and to achieve the target, despite fatigue and strains.
